Fiscal Year End 2012-2013 - The State of the Chapter

Serving as your President of our  Omicron Gamma Chapter (term ended in June 30th, 2013) has been a privilege.  Thank you for your  unrelenting support  of our  Executive Board and faculty counselors, and for the tremendous growth of our chapter's membership over the last two years. Our  newest chapter's members are forever joined  through scholarship, leadership, and as members of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI).  As a result, we have  increased our chapter's visibility at Wilmington University and throughout the  STTI Tri-State  region. Locally, we have conducted electronic elections for two consecutive years,  implemented our first tele-conference membership-wide meeting, awarded scholarships,   and  reached out to our new friends through our International Used Textbook Community Service project in Kenya.

Stay Connected on The Circle - our STTI Communication System:    It is important for you to update and maintain  your profile with current email and contact information to continue to receive emails about membership - wide meetings, leadership opportunities, inductions, and chapter activities and projects. Be sure your email address is always accurate. Change your profile if you change your mailing or email address.    Also, consider  applying for a scholarship to continue your education, demonstrate your leadership skills by running for office, or by volunteering to work on one of our standing  committees.

Get Involved:    Check the upcoming events on the chapter website and watch for email blasts about important dates. from your new President Elect.     Mark your calendar to attend our  bi annual membership - wide meetings.  It  is a great way to connect with other STTI members. For example, our Fall membership meeting is held in conjunction  with the Tri-State Consortium in or near Philadelphia.  Here, you will have a unique opportunity to network with STTI leaders and  members from other chapters from across our geographic region. There are many exciting opportunities for STTI chapter members to get involved ...too numerous to mention here. To learn more, contact the President Elect - Dr. Dori Lawson to learn more about your Omicron Gamma doricrnp@comcast.net
With Warmest Regards,
Joan Renner, MSN, RN, RNBC

  • Spring Induction

Over a hundred and thirty candidates were inducted into our Omicron Gamma chapter at Wilmington University on March 23, 2014. It was a very exciting day for our inductees, and over 350 family members, our faculty, and members of the chapter's executive board. To help celebrate this momentous event, we were honored to have Dr. Felicia Jones-Haskins as our guest speaker. Dr. Haskins has been an active participant in health care for over 30 years and embraces her role as a nurse educator. Dr. Haskins serves as the Chair of the Allied Health Program for Wilmington University. Her words inspired our newest members as we celebrated throughout the day.
